Rare diseases affect 1 in 10 Americans, 30 million people in the United States, and on average 350 million people globally.  Over 7,000 distinct rare diseases exist and approximately 80 percent are caused by faulty genes. We are a nonprofit public charity organization dedicated to serving the medically complex rare disease community. Our history starts with the pursuit to serve the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) community. In 2015, we expanded our mission to embrace other rare connective tissue conditions to meet the evolving needs of the community. Today, EDSers United has joined the global efforts of the Rare Advocacy Movement to support the lived-experiences of people diagnosed with debilitating rare conditions like EDS.
